Hamburg Messe is easy to get to by all means of transport. It is centrally located, with good transport connections, at the centre of Hamburg and in sight of Hamburg Dammtor InterCity rail station. Select your desired mode of transport, for fast and reliable travel.

Travel by public transport
Hamburg Messe is connected to all important places in Hamburg by bus and train. The extensive suburban and underground railway network is supported by an even closer network of metro and express bus lines. Thanks to its convenient and central location, Hamburg Messe can be reached from anywhere in the shortest possible time
Public transport in Hamburg is provided by the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (hvv). Before and after your visit to the trade fair, you can continue on your journey of discovery with a day or week ticket from the hvv. Experience Hamburg by bus, train or harbour ferry. And that in a comfortable, sustainable and inexpensive way. Without traffic jams and searching for a parking space.
Rail travel
Dammtor mainline station is just a few steps away. It links Hamburg Messe directly with the mainline rail network of Deutsche Bahn, including ICE high-speed trains, thus connecting it with the international rail system. It is only 8 minutes’ walk from Dammtor station to the East Entrance, and only 20 minutes from the Central Entrance.
Alternatively, you can get to the Central or West Entrance from Dammtor by taking S-Bahn S2 (towards Altona) or S5 (towards Elbgaustrasse) to Sternschanze (one station).
If you arrive at Hamburg Central Station (Hauptbahnhof), it is only one station from there to Dammtor station (for the East Entrance), by S-Bahn S2 (towards Altona) or S5 (towards Elbgaustrasse). That is just two minutes on the train. From there you can have the same alternatives to get to the Fair.

Arrival by car
Easy to reach by car. A more relaxed way to travel is by public transport.
You will find up to 3,500 parking spaces in our multi-storey car parks Mitte (Lagerstraße), Underground Car Park East (Bei den Kirchhöfen), Car Park West (Lagerstraße, behind Hall A3) and Heiligengeistfeld (Feldstraße / Glacischaussee). Detailed information on the individual parking options is provided below, the best overview is provided by the large map view.
As not all parking spaces are permanently available and to avoid traffic jams at peak times, we recommend using public transport of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV).
If you are coming by car from outside Hamburg, it is best to use one of the many P+R stations, which we have also shown on the map.

Parking facilities
- When you enter the underground car park, your license plate number will be recorded and the barrier will open automatically.
- To leave the underground car park, enter your license plate number at the pay machine (for example):
HHMC2023 - Pay for your parking and get a receipt.
- As soon as your license plate is paid, you can drive to the exit and the barrier opens automatically.
Notice:
To avoid waiting in line after your stay, you can enter your license plate number at the pay machine right after entering the car park and choose „Day ticket“. That way you can easily drive out within the next 24 hours.

Do you have an electric or hybrid car and need a charging point near the exhibition grounds?
In the Underground Car Park CCH - Congress Center Hamburg you will find 16 parking spaces with charging stations, in the Central Car Park four charging stations with 50 kW + 58 charging stations with 22 kW, in the Underground Garage Easttwo fast chargers with four charging points (DC - 400 kW) and 60 charging stations as well as 30 charging points in the Underground Car Park West.
The charging stations in the Underground Car Park West are only accessible during events.
In each case, this is public charging infrastructure with the usual charging rates and conditions.

Air travel
Almost 60 airlines serve Hamburg Airport directly. This means that the Elbe metropolis can be reached without a stopover from around 130 national and international cities and over 40 countries. The modern airport is located around 10 km from the exhibition grounds in the northern district of Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel.

The terminals at Hamburg Airport have direct connections to the route network of the Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (hvv). This means that you can quickly get from the airport to Hamburg City after landing without changing planes. If you have any questions about the hvv or would like advice on buying tickets, the staff at the Hamburg Welcome Center will be happy to assist you. The Hamburg Welcome Center is located on the ground floor of the Airport Plaza, opposite the entrance to the S-Bahn.

Visa service
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany notified the visa offices at the German diplomatic representations abroad that effective 24 July 2013, requests for visas for trade fair visits in Germany no longer have to be accompanied by an invitation letter from the relevant trade fair company.
